Former OKC Thunder Players Signed in Free Agency
With the Oklahoma City Thunder having gone through a rebuild over the course of the last three seasons, they've had plenty of roster turnover. With a fresh, young squad, the Thunder have had to move on from some NBA-level talents to make room for higher potential guys.
During free agency, former Thunder players have been agreeing to new contracts with different teams across the NBA.
Likely the most coveted former Thunder player of all time, Russell Westbrook has agreed to terms to re-sign with the Los Angeles Clippers on a two-year, $8 million deal.
Jeff Green, who played with the Thunder for three seasons, starting in 2008, has agreed to join the Houston Rockets on a one-year, $6-million deal.
After backing up Westbrook and playing alongside Chris Paul and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander during his Thunder days, Dennis Schroeder has bounces around a few teams. Now, he is joining the Toronto Raptors on a two-year, $26 million deal to fill the hole left by outgoing free agent Fred VanVleet.
Another one of Westbrook's former backup point guards has agreed to a new contracts this offseason, this time being Reggie Jackson on his two-year, $10.25 million deal to return to the Denver Nuggets.
Dario Saric, who was with the Thunder after the trade deadline this past season, is expected to a sign a deal with the Golden State Warriors, which would pair him up with another former Thunder in Chris Paul.
After playing with the Thunder, Jerami Grant took strides as a player with the Nuggets, Detroit Pistons, and most recently the Portland Trail Blazers, where Grant just agreed to re-sign on a five-year, $160 million deal.
Another player who played a part in the Thunder's rebuild, Ty Jerome, just signed a two-year, $5 million deal with the Cleveland Cavaliers. This is his second team since playing in Oklahoma City.
Notable former Thunder players Darius Bazley and Theo Maledon are recent players from the program that remain unsigned. Maledon is a restricted free agenct with the Charlotte Hornets, whereas Bazley is an unrestricted free agent.
