Injury Report, Updated Odds (1/28): Oklahoma City Thunder at Detroit Pistons
The Oklahoma City Thunder is the top seed in the Western Conference, and not by way of tiebreaker. They are in sole possession of the top of the conference, and they can further solidify that early on Sunday as they travel to take on the Detroit Pistons for an afternoon game.
For the top-seeded Thunder, they take on the No. 15 team in the Eastern Conference in a game they should be able win quite handily. Still, the NBA is a league that can get out of hand on any given night.
With a five-game win streak underway, the Thunder is staring at a big chance to keep their momentum going to help close out January.
Injury Report
Thunder:
Ousmane Dieng, OUT (G League)
Tre Mann, OUT (Not with team)
Pistons:
Malcolm Calazon, OUT (G League)
Cade Cunningham, Probable (Knee)
Monte Morris, Probable (Quadriceps)
Jared Rhoden, OUT (G League)
Stanley Umude, OUT (G League)
As Inside the Thunder reported yesterday, the reason for Tre Mann's absence is unknown, but it's an excused absence from the team. He's not on the road trip, and Ousmane Dieng remains on a G League assignment as he continues to develop and prepare to play with the Thunder again.
For the Pistons, having Cade Cunningham and Monte Morris likely to play is huge. They need all hands on deck as they're the outmatched team with just five wins on the season.
Updated Odds
The Thunder, rightfully so, is a 12.5-point favorite. That's what the line opened up as, too. Evidently, a No. 1 seed facing a No. 15 seed from another conference is going to go in favor of the top seed. Now, the Thunder has to show its ability to continue and take care of business in situations like these.
With a win, the Thunder would not only maintain complete control of the Western Conference standings, but they'd inch closer to the top seed in the entire NBA.
