Injury Report, Updated Odds (1/29): Oklahoma City Thunder vs. Minnesota Timberwolves
The Oklahoma City Thunder hosts the Minnesota Timberwolves on Monday in a battle that will momentarily determine the No. 1 seed in the Western Conference. The two teams are coming off bad loses to teams they ideally should have taken down.
Now, the two teams -- both with a 32-14 record -- are searching to take sole possession of the top seed after taking those tough losses. While the Thunder played yesterday, it was an early afternoon game.
The Thunder had their five-game winning streak snapped by the Detroit Pistons and they now look to close the month strong on their home floor and potentially rekindle a winning streak.
Injury Report
Thunder:
Ousmane Dieng, OUT (G League)
Timberwolves:
Jaylen Clark, OUT (Achilles)
Leonard Miller, OUT (G League)
Josh Minott, OUT (G League)
Mike Conley, OUT (Hamstring)
Mike Conley being out of the game would hurt the Timberwolves in a matchup against the Thunder -- a team that is capable of turning teams over and capitalizing on fast break chances.
For the Thunder, they continue to have a clean injury report and have continued to avoid injuries. This has helped them put together a consistent season.
Updated Odds
The Thunder opened as and continue to be a 2.5-point favorite over the Timberwolves. The two teams have played three times this season. The Timberwolves took the first matchup, with the Thunder taking the two latter matchups.
Two of the three matchups have been determined by less than five points and they were both low-scoring games. Both teams are fine with slowing the game down and grinding it out.
It'll be interesting to see how both Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Anthony Edwards play in this matchup after Edwards called out Gilgeous-Alexander and the Thunder about free throws after the last matchup.
This should be another close, fun game in Oklahoma City and will close out what has been an entertaining regular season series.
