Injury Report, Updated Odds (1/31): Oklahoma City Thunder vs. Denver Nuggets
Wednesday's matchup against the Denver Nuggets is going to be an important one for the Oklahoma City Thunder. After a two-game skid following a five-game win streak, the Thunder dropped from the No. 1 seed to the No. 3 seed, being jumped by the Minnesota Timberwolves and Denver Nuggets.
To make matters worse, the LA Clippers are just behind the top three teams with the potential to jump in the top three and make things even tighter at the top of the Western Conference.
For the Thunder, a win right now would be huge to cap off a struggle of a month, and the All-Star break can't come soon enough for this squad.
Injury Report
Thunder:
Lu Dort, Available (Ankle)
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Available (Illness)
Chet Holmgren, Available (Illness)
Isaiah Joe, OUT (Sternum)
Jalen Williams, OUT (Ankle)
Nuggets:
Nikola Jokic, OUT (Back)
Vlatko Cancer, OUT (Knee)
Jalen Pickett, OUT (G League)
Julian Strawther, OUT (Knee)
Tyson Hunter, OUT (G League)
After a great run of having good health and consistent clean injury reports, the Thunder is going to have their hands full as they're finally going to deal with some adversity due to injuries.
Missing Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Chet Holmgren or Lu Dort would hurt the Thunder after already being without Jalen Williams and Isaiah Joe. They're going to be stretched thin and looking for some help off the bench. Look for guys like Cason Wallace and Aaron Wiggins to make a bigger impact than normal on Wednesday night.
With Nikola Jokic being questionable, the Thunder has much more of a chance in this one. If he doesn't play, these teams would be on the same playing field as each other.
Updated Odds
Despite the injury report and uncertainty around the two teams, the Thunder is a 1.5-point favorite over the Nuggets, though they opened as a 2.5-point favorite. A win for the Thunder would be huge as they find their way out of an incredibly tough month of play and travel.
