Injury Report, Updated Odds (10/27): Oklahoma City Thunder at Cleveland Cavaliers
The Oklahoma City Thunder is gearing up for its second game of the season -- also on the road -- this time against the Cleveland Cavaliers. The Thunder is coming off a 124-104 over the Chicago Bulls in a game that set a good tone for the season for Oklahoma City.
Now, the Thunder is going to try and piggyback off the win and take on a shorthanded Cavaliers team. They've got momentum and plenty of room to grow after the season opener, and it'd be big for the Thunder to take a second win in a row to the home opener against the reigning champions in the Denver Nuggets.
Injury Report:
Thunder:
- Kenrich Williams, OUT (Back Spasms)
- Jaylin Williams, OUT (Hamstring Strain)
Cavaliers:
- Jarrett Allen, OUT (Ankle)
- Ricky Rubio, OUT (Away from team)
- Dean Wade, Available (Illness)
- Darius Garland, OUT (Hamstring Strain)
Nothing changes on the Thunder's side of things when it comes to injuries. It'll be interesting to see how the Thunder approaches the rotation after having seen the last game and with a new matchup.
Also, something that could be notable is Darius Garland, who is listed as questionable. With a team that likes to control the pace in the Cavaliers, having their All-Star guard who's also super quick is quite helpful, and his absence will hurt them. He's also the primary spacing for Donovan Mitchell.
According to Cavaliers head coach JB Bickerstaff, Garland is “very questionable.”
The Cavaliers are also without Jarrett Allen, which takes away from their size. Now, a matchup between Chet Holmgren and Evan Mobley will ensue and it'll still be a great matchup down low.
Updated Odds:
Once again, Oklahoma City is an underdog. The Cavaliers are four-point favorites over the Thunder. In the season opener, the Thunder was a short underdog and ended up winning by 20 points.
At some point, the Thunder will get more respect and it'll reflect in the odds. Without Jarrett Allen and potentially Darius Garland, the Thunder will have a big opportunity to make some noise as the underdog on the road.
