Injury Report, Updated Odds (10/30): Oklahoma City Thunder vs. Detroit Pistons
The Oklahoma City Thunder is coming off a brutal loss to the Denver Nuggets. The defending champs proved to be too much for the Thunder on Sunday as the Thunder lost its home opener.
Now, the Thunder gets a second chance as they host the Detroit Pistons. The Pistons have shown improved defense this season, but their starting lineup lacks spacing.
This is a huge opportunity for the Thunder to get back on track after the loss, as they're 2-1 in the young season. Outside of the season opener, the Thunder hasn't put together a full game.
It'll be important for the Thunder to find an offensive rhythm as a team early while getting stops and the Pistons and taking advantage of fast breaks.
Injury Report:
Thunder:
Jaylin Williams, OUT (Right Hamstring Strain)
Kenrich Williams, OUT (Back Spasms)
Pistons:
Bojan Bogdanovic, OUT (Right Calf Strain)
Isaiah Livers, OUT (Left Ankle Sprain)
Monte Morris, OUT (Right Quad Strain)
James Wiseman, AVAILABLE (Left Digit Sprain)
For the Thunder, they'll miss Jaylin Williams once again. As they took on Nikola Jokic and the Nuggets, they certainly could have benefitted from his size, as he could have used his strength to potentially wear Jokic out.
Playing against Jalen Duren, Chet Holmgren will be able to match his athleticism, but having Williams use his strength against him and Marvin Bagley would be beneficial.
Kenrich Williams' presence continues to be missed, too, as a calming veteran who would help the Thunder get back into rhythm when things get shaky.
Both teams are mostly at full strength and should match up against each other well.
Updated Odds:
For the first time this season, the Thunder is a favorite. They were underdogs in each of the team's first three games, but the Thunder are six-point favorites over the Pistons.
Assuming Shai Gilgeous-Alexander can bounce back and the Thunder finds an offensive rhythm, they should be able to cover against the Pistons while playing their second game in the Paycom Center.
