Injury Report, Updated Odds (12/18): Oklahoma City Thunder vs. Memphis Grizzlies
The Oklahoma City Thunder seemed to have captured some momentum on Saturday as they took down the Denver Nuggets. They recaptured the No. 2 seed in the Western Conference in doing so, and they now take on the Memphis Grizzlies in the Paycom Center.
With Jalen Williams stepping up to the plate and playing a good game against the Nuggets combined with Chet Holmgren's defensive prowess, the Thunder continues to show its ability to compete on a nightly basis.
The Grizzlies are coming off four straight losses. They've been dealing with plenty of roster fluctuation over the course of the season, and their record and form certainly shows that.
Injury Report:
Thunder:
Keyontae Johnson, OUT (G League)
Grizzlies:
Ja Morant, OUT (Suspension)
Luke Kennard, OUT (Knee)
Steven Adams, OUT (Knee)
Brandon Clarke, OUT (Achilles)
Derrick Rose, OUT (Hamstring)
Marcus Smart, OUT (Foot)
Bismack Biyombo, OUT (Doubtful)
The Thunder continually having a clean injury report -- other than the fluctuation of G League guys -- is encouraging and a big part of why they're No. 2 in the Western Conference. Continuing to play at full strength and getting consistent reps with the core of players has helped them plenty.
The Grizzlies, though, are having the opposite issue. Ja Morant is nearing the end of a 25-game suspension, and they're dealing with plenty of injuries outside of that. They're without six guys that could all benefit the team with injuries, though a couple are season-ending injuries.
Updated Odds:
This game could be a bit of a trap game for the Thunder. At home, as favorites, playing an injury-riddled team could cause some issues if the Thunder doesn't lock in early and take care of business.
The Thunder is a 10.5-point favorite over the Grizzlies, which makes sense considering both the team's current form and the Grizzlies' plethora of injuries.
