Injury Report, Updated Odds (2/2): Oklahoma City Thunder vs. Charlotte Hornets
The Oklahoma City Thunder recently took a bounce-back win after a two-game skid, and now they have the opportunity to build a small winning streak after knocking off the Denver Nuggets a couple of nights ago.
The Thunder is taking on the Charlotte Hornets in the two team's first of two battles the season, this time taking place in Oklahoma City. The Hornets are on a five-game losing streak, having taken some brutal losses along the way.
This would be a good start to February as the Thunder can pile together a few more wins before the All-Star game, setting them up well in the standings before the final stretch of the regular season.
Injury Report
Thunder:
Isaiah Joe, OUT (Sternum)
Jalen Williams, OUT (Ankle)
Hornets:
Amari Bailey, OUT (G League)
Gordon Hayward, OUT (Calf)
Mark Williams, OUT (Back)
LaMelo Ball, Doubtful (Ankle)
Williams and Joe remain out with their injuries, which will test the team and its depth at the guard position. Guys like Aaron Wiggins and Cason Wallace have the opportunity to step up in a big way and provide big-impact bench minutes to keep the Thunder's rhythm and flow intact.
For the Hornets, they're going to be without a couple of rotational players, and if LaMelo Ball is out, too, things could get messy for them. Especially after having traded Terry Rozier, the Hornets will struggle to have an engine for their offense, which the Thunder will be able to capitalize on defensively.
Updated Odds
The Thunder -- playing at the Paycom Center -- is a steep 15.5-point favorite. Even without Williams and Joe, the Thunder should be able to take a big win over a team they outmatch.
This will be another showing of how the Thunder is set up with depth and is capable of defeating teams they should be able to handily.
