Jalen Williams Set To Return vs Utah Jazz After Missing Three Straight Games
The Oklahoma City Thunder saw Jalen Williams exit early during their Jan. 29th loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves with an ankle injury that has since held him out of the following three contests. In that span, the Thunder managed to go 3-0, with gutty wins over the Nuggets and Raptors, while blowing out the lowly Charlotte Hornets.
Despite their success in the win column, the OKC Thunder missed Williams' scoring punch, especially when staggered with the secondary unit. Throughout the day on Monday, the Santa Clara product has been tabbed as questionable after slowly being able to do more on-court work throughout the weekend.
At the 5:30 Injury Report update, the Oklahoma City Thunder announced that their Sophomore wing will be active tonight against the Utah Jazz, along with an upgrade for 29-year-old Vasilije Micic who had previously been listed as questionable. This removed two names from their still lengthy injury report.
Still, the Oklahoma City Thunder list Cason Wallace (Shoulder), Davis Bertans (Knee), Ousmane Dieng (Hip), Lindy Waters III (Ankle), and Jaylin Williams (Achilles) as questionable for tonight's game against the Jazz.
Keyontae Johnson (G League), Olivier Sarr (G League), and Isaiah Joe (Sternum) have all been ruled out against Utah.
The Jazz will only be without Ochai Agbaji (illness) due to injury tonight, but will miss Taylor Hendricks, Johnny Juzang, Micah Potter, Jason Preston, and Brice Sensabaugh all on G League assignment with the Salt Lake City Stars.
This is the final game before the NBA Trade Deadline, and a rare three consecutive off day stretch for the Oklahoma City Thunder. We will see if that impacts how they manage their rotation against the 25-26 Jazz.
