Jeremiah Robinson-Earl Nearing Return to Play
In the midst of the Oklahoma City Thunder’s easiest portion of their schedule, Jeremiah Robinson-Earl is nearing a return to play.
Recently, Robinson-Earl was sent to the Oklahoma City Blue of the G League and called back to the Thunder as a process of his eventual return. He could be sent back to the Blue before his return to NBA play.
Either way, he is slated to make his return to play during the Thunder’s easiest portion of their schedule this season, which will benefit both him and the team.
As the team currently sits at 24-27 on the season, they’re still in the playoff mix, despite being the 13th seed in the Western Conference. It’s a weird dynamic, but it speaks to the depth of the Western Conference and how close it is.
Being in the position that they are, the Thunder desperately need to capitalize on a weaker schedule this month, which will have started with two games against the Houston Rockets, in which they hope to split 2-2. In the first matchup against the Rockets, a loss, they wished to have Robinson-Earl and his size in the lineup.
Any team can realistically expose the Thunder’s size right now, but the Thunder will want to avoid that as they’ve got potential to put together a win streak. However, Robinson-Earl will provide both size and shooting needed to avoid that happening.
His return could be what gives the Thunder the needed push to make another push to get further into the playoff mix, and evidently will get the Villanova product right back into game shape and rhythm.
