Luguentz Dort Scores 21, The Blue Overcome a 14 Point Deficit, but the Clippers Win 113-109.

The Oklahoma City Blue fell to 1-1  today after a 113-109 loss to the Agua Caliente Clippers.

After trailing by as many as 14 points in the fourth quarter, a three-pointer from Luguentz Dort cut Oklahoma City’s deficit to two points at 111-109 with 35 seconds left in the game. Agua Caliente’s Derrick Walton Jr. converted two free throws with 15 seconds left to seal the victory.

Dort finishes with 21 points, four rebounds and two steals, his second consecutive game scoring over 20 points. He was one of six in double figures for Oklahoma City.

The Blue held the Clippers scoreless for almost four minutes to start the game and led 12-0 early in the first quarter. Agua Caliente battled back and led 61-56 at halftime.

Thunder assignment player Justin Patton scored six of Oklahoma City’s points to open the game and finished with 10 points, six blocks, four rebounds, and four assists.

The two teams went back and forth for the entire second half, which featured eight lead changes and two ties.

The Blue won the rebounding battle, 50-47, behind a 15-rebound performance from Kevin Hervey and tallied 11 blocks to the Clippers’ three.

Agua Caliente’s Donte Grantham scored 21 points off the bench, as the Clippers’ reserves outscored the Blue’s, 32-30. Oklahoma City’s bench efforts were led by a game-high 22 points, six rebounds and two steals from Devaughn Akoon-Purcell.

The Blue return to Oklahoma City to host the Westchester Knicks for the home opener on Saturday, Nov. 16 at 7 p.m. in the Cox Convention Center.
