Thunder Gameday: OKC Looking For Revenge Against Draymond Green, Steph Curry-Less Warriors
In the first of two-straight matchups against the Golden State Warriors, the Oklahoma City Thunder will once again be faced with the task of performing on the road.
Klay Thompson and the Draymond Green-less Warriors will take to their home court looking to end their four-game losing skid — but doing so won't be easy, especially if the Thunder can continue to build off of the momentum it created Tuesday against the San Antonio Spurs. Steph Curry also will not play due to injury.
A win would extend Oklahoma City's win streak to three games, while a loss would lower their above-.500 cushion to just two games. But regardless of results, the Warriors likely won't roll over. Both sides can expect a hard-fought matchup, especially after the late-game antics from their last meeting.
ODDS:
The Thunder enter the day as 2.5-point favorites over the Warriors, and the total over/under is 227.5 points. Oklahoma City opens up as -114 betting favorites, as well.
KEYS TO THE GAME:
Above all else, momentum and motivation will likely play a large role for both squads Thursday night.
The Oklahoma City Thunder won't be playing on its bright-blue court this time, but that doesn't mean the stakes are any less high, especially against the Warriors. The last meeting between both teams — which was less than two weeks ago — ended in a heartbreaker for the Thunder.
A controversial non-call on Curry's final shot led to a last-second victory, and Oklahoma City's fans went home disappointed and disgruntled.
This time, it'll be Golden State's fans with those stakes on the line, and the Thunder certainly remembers how it felt following the last matchup.
Chet Holmgren didn't have the outing he'd have liked against the Spurs and Victor Wembanyama. In what was supposed to be the biggest game of the season, he was almost absent — an abnormality for him this season. Taking the court again against the Warriors will be a chance for him to change that, but also for Shai Gilgeous-Alexander to continue to show out.
Without Curry and without Green — who was recently suspended five games for his wrestling-like antics against Rudy Gobert — Golden state will be shorthanded. Oklahoma City will be motivated as well, making Thursday's matchup a must-see.

FINAL WORD:
However Thursday night's game shapes up, it will be an exciting one for both fanbases to tune into. Golden State will get the chance to gauge its performance without two stars, while Oklahoma City will get a chance to take advantage of a short-handed squad and even the season series against a contending Western Conference team.
Implications are high and motivations higher — the recipe for solid NBA basketball.
