Jalen Williams Set to Return Against Dallas Mavericks
On Tuesday, Oklahoma City Thunder rising star Jalen Williams missed his seventh game of the season, most recently with an ankle injury. The sprain was sustained after stepping on a camera operator on the baseline.
The Santa Clara forward was tabbed as day-to-day by Thunder bench boss Mark Daigneault after missing their matchup with the Pacers earlier this week. Williams was moving well at shoot-around and practice Wednesday.
On the Initial injury report the Oklahoma City Thunder have not listed the starting forward, signaling Williams is ready to return to the floor against the Dallas Mavericks on National Television. After being tabbed as out with an ankle sprain Tuesday, for Williams not to show up at all on the report Wednesday would have to put him back in the lineup for the Thunder to be in line with the NBA's reporting policy.
The OKC Thunder will only be without their three two-way contract players Keyontae Johnson, Adam Flagler and Olivier Sarr as well as G League assignee Ousmane Dieng as they play for the OKC Blue against the Iowa Wolves on Wednesday.
So far this season, Jalen Williams is averaging 19 points, four rebounds, four assists and 1.6 stocks per game. Williams has started all 58 games he has participated in.
The Thunder look to get back on track after seeing their nine-game home winning streak snapped on Tuesday. Oklahoma City wraps up their four-game home stand with a 9 P.M. tip against the Mavericks.
