OKC Thunder Players Nominated for Western Conference Players

The Oklahoma City Thunder saw Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Isaiah Hartenstein nominated for the Western Conference Player of the Week award for Week Six. Falling to Alprene Sengun after a 3-1 record.

The Oklahoma City Thunder have capped off a stellar week. In a stretch that included a four game, eight day, Holiday road trip, the OKC Thunder rattled off a 3-1 record. This brings their overall mark to 15-5, still placing atop the Western Conference.

After this impressive week, Thunder guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and big man Isaiah Hartenstein were each nominated for the week six version of the Western Conference Player of the Week award. The two Thunder ballers fell short of Houston Rockets big man Alprene Sengun out West who posted 21 points, 12 rebounds and nine assists per game. Out East, Jalen Brunson brought home the honor posting 26 points and nine assists per game while shooting 54 percent from the floor.

Gilgeous-Alexander and Hartenstein were worthy contenders for the honor. The seven-footer posted four double-doubles to the tune of 15.8 points, 13.8 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 1.5 stocks per game while shooting 64 percent from the floor, 0-for-1 from beyond the arc and 64 percent at the stripe.

Gilgeous-Alexander posted 35 points, 6.8 rebounds, 7.5 assists, 1.3 steals and 0.8 blocks per game while shooting 51 percent from the floor, 36 percent from beyond the arc and 72 percent at the free throw line.

Oklahoma City now sees their schedule soften with three games upcoming against the Utah Jazz, Toronto Raptors and New Orleans Pelicans.
