The Western Conference could not overcome a slow start and fell to the Eastern Conference 211-186.

This marked Shai Gilgeous-Alexander's first career start in the NBA Al-Star game, but second overall appearance in the event. In a weekend that was full of praise for the Oklahoma City Thunder superstar, Gilgeous-Alexander did not disappoint.

In his All-Star game debut last season in Salt Lake City, the max contract point guard played just ten minutes, logging nine points, a mark he out did in the first half alone as a starter.

Gilgeous-Alexander finished with 31 points, four rebounds, six assists and a steal. Along with a plethora of highlights, including a self lob that looked to be inspired by his Thunder teammate, Chet Holmgren.

In a stacked game, the OKC Thunder guard finished with the second most points in the conference despite the West coming up short. Among the starters, Gilgeous-Alexander led the Western Conference in scoring.

Up next, the Oklahoma City Thunder will resume their regular season schedule on Thursday against the LA Clippers in the Paycom Center at 7 p.m. CT. With just 28 games left in the regular season, Gilgeous-Alexander is in the mix for the MVP Award, and the Thunder are in the driver's seat to host an NBA playoff series.
