Social Media Reacts To Statement Win by OKC Thunder Over LA Clippers
The Oklahoma City Thunder came into a contest against the L.A. Clippers looking on Thursday looking to make a statement after the All-Star Break, and did they ever. Cason Wallace said at shoot around this morning, the Thunder were “locked in," and they looked every bit of it on Thursday night.
In their first game back, the Thunder put up 129 points, limiting the Clippers to just 107, while earning a statement win over their Western Conference foes. In a razor thin race for the top seed in the West, the Oklahoma City Thunder got off on the right foot with just 27 games left in the regular season.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander looked every bit the part of the league's MVP producing 31 points, dishing out eight assists, hauling in four rebounds, swatting a pair of shots, and swiping a steal. It was a busy day in the office for the superstar who only missed seven shots in 34 minutes of action.
All five starters logged double-digit points, Aaron Wiggins had nine points off the pine, while Cason Wallace and Kenrich Williams each chipping in seven off the bench. The Thunder were on fire on both ends, earning 11 blocks as a team, nine steals, and holding the Clippers to 45/37/84 shooting splits. This sent social media ablaze as the Thunder continue to climb the standings.
Up Next, the OKC Thunder have a quick turnaround playing the Washington Wizards tomorrow on the second night of a back-to-back.
