The Oklahoma City Thunder (51-22) battle for the top seed in the Western Conference. Dating back to last week against the Utah Jazz, the Thunder have seen their superstar Shai Gilgeous-Alexandersuffer from a quad injury.

Oklahoma City has held Gilgeous-Alexander out of their previous two contests against the Houston Rockets and Phoenix Suns. This has prompted the MVP candidate to have at least four days off ahead of their clash in New York City on Sunday.

Though, as the initial injury report gets rolled out, the Oklahoma City Thunder have left Gilgeous-Alexander as doubtful with that quad contusion suffered against Utah. According to the NBA Injury Policy doubtful gives the player a 25 percent chance of participating in the game.

Ahead of Friday's matchup, Gilgeous-Alexander was seen working out after shootaround with Thunder staffers. Mark Daigneault labeled his status as day-to-day while noting the star is making good progress.

The NBA Injury Report is updated hourly, but as it sits now, Gilgeous-Alexander is a long shot to play inside the Garden. The Knicks will still be without O.G. Anunoby in this contest.

Up next, the Oklahoma City Thunder will continue their East Coast swing with a trip to Philadelphia to take on the 76ers on the front end of a back-to-back that concludes in Boston against the Celtics.
