OKC Thunder Superstar Ties Franchise Record in Win Over Clippers

The Oklahoma City Thunder had a historic night on Sunday inside the Intuit Dome as the Thunder topped the L.A. Clippers 103-101. This marked the tenth straight road win, a new franchise record.
It was an impressive win by the OKC Thunder who were down two of its top three players against a fully healthy Clippers squad that is playing its best basketball in the home stretch of the season.
On top of the absence of Chet Holmgren and Jalen Williams, the Oklahoma City Thunder also saw a lackluster shooting night from beyond the arc headlined by an 0-for-4 night from sharpshooter Isaiah Joe and the least efficient game from its superstar Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.
Gilgeous-Alexander shot just 24% from the floor, 1-for-7 from deep but did toss in 11 free throws on as many attempts en route to 26 points, eight assists, three rebounds, two steals and a pair of blocks against just one turnover.
While this individual game will not steal headlines for the soon to be be NBA MVP, Gilgeous-Alexander did tie a franchise record in the process.
This contest gave the Oklahoma City Thunder superstar 64 consecutive games of scoring 20-plus points. That stretch ties franchise icon and future Hall of Famer Kevin Durant for the longest such streak in OKC Thunder history.
Gilgeous-Alexander will attempt to stake claim to this streak all by himself with a 20-plus point outing on Tuesday in Sacramento as the Thunder battle the Kings to wrap up a two game road swing before embarking on its final true home stand of the season.
