Thunder Release Summer League Roster
Oklahoma City will play its first Summer League game on Monday, July 3 in Utah against the Jazz.
With the first matchup of the summer upcoming, the Thunder released their roster for next week.
Notably, 10th overall pick Cason Wallace is not listed on the roster. This is because of the draft day trade that brought the former Kentucky star to OKC, not allowing Wallace to join his teammates until after July 6.
He without the defensive stopper on the team for its first set of games, Oklahoma City has a strong roster that could make some noise in both Utah and Las Vegas. OKC will play three games in Salt Lake City from July 3-6 before heading to Vegas, where the squad will play four games between July 8-14.
Of the 17-man roster, Rookie of the Year runner up Jalen Williams and former No. 2 overall pick Chet Holmgren headline a strong Thunder team. Aside from Williams and Holmgren, Jaylin Williams and Tre Mann both have a good amount of experience at the NBA level that will help them dominate their lesser experienced competition, especially in Utah.
In his two professional seasons, Mann has played in 127 games with 31 career starts. Williams started 36 games as a rookie for Oklahoma City last year, earning a role as the team's starting center by the end of the season.
Jeremiah Robinson-Earl, who is also on OKC's Summer League roster, has appeared in 92 NBA games over his two year career, making 56 starts. Ousmane Dieng, despite his youth, also has experience at the NBA level, playing in 39 games as a rookie.
The Thunder also have a total of nine rookies of their initial roster, which will likely creep to 10 when Wallace is able to join the team in Las Vegas. Keyontae Johnson, Oklahoma City's second round draft pick, could have a solid showing this summer.
Despite being the 50th overall selection, Johnson averaged 17.4 points, 6.8 rebounds, 2.1 assists and one steal per game in his lone season at Kansas State. In addition to his production, the Thunder two-way wing is a very experienced player in his own right, playing in 108 collegiate games with 92 starts.
OKC's wealth of experience and talent should make them a highly competitive opponent in the Summer League. With extremely talented players like Holmgren and Jalen Williams as well as the experienced solid role players on the team, Oklahoma City should be one of the best squads in Utah and Las Vegas.
