The Oklahoma City Thunder came into the preseason matchup against the Charlotte Hornets resting the starters and Isaiah Joe as the team continues to gear up for the regular season.

One of the appeals for this Thunder squad -- and another reason they're projected to do so well -- is the deep level of young talent, as they've got plenty of capable players to hold things down when the starters go out for rest.

This was on full display as the shorthanded Thunder trailed the Hornets 67-61 at halftime, led by 13 points from Aaron Wiggins. Being capable of scoring 61 points in the half with only the second unit and beyond is incredibly impressive, and a good sign of what could come in the upcoming season.

There was one issue, though, as Cason Wallace left the game and will miss the remainder of the game with a sprained toe.

Preseason was an incredible opportunity for Wallace to get quality reps ahead of the new season, but it's likely that he'll miss the remainder of exhibition games.

While it is unfortunate for Wallace to miss the rest of preseason, there are plenty of undetermined roster spots that will now be decided much easier, as there's more playing time for other guys.
