Thunder Sign KJ Williams to Exhibit-10 Deal

Oklahoma City has been busy adding undrafted free agents with the most recent being big forward KJ Williams.

The Thunder continue to add undrafted rookies to their offseason roster as Murray State and LSU’s KJ Williams signed an Exhibit-10 deal with OKC.

Williams joins Caleb McConnell, Hunter Maldonaldo, Adam Flagler, Tanner Groves and Justice Sueing as undrafted free agents who will play on the OKC Summer League roster.

Williams played five seasons in college, four with Murray State and then last season with LSU. Williams is a 6-foot-10, 250-pound forward who is a dynamic scorer. Last season, Williams scored 17.7 points per game and added 7.7 rebounds. For his career he averaged 14.3 points and 7.3 boards.

He not only enters the fold with needed size, but showed a strong 3-point shooting ability in his college career. He is a career 37.6% shooter from beyond the arc, but posted a 41.1% mark last season.

The Thunder have added a strong focus on the team's overall shooting abilities and Willaims could use that to his advantage to earn a roster spot at the end of the offseason. Despite his strong collegiate career, Williams faces an uphill battle to stick onto the OKC roster, but could find a way to earn a two-way contract by the beginning of the season.

Along with his shooting prowess, Williams’ size could raise his stock when it comes to who sticks with OKC going into the season or even in the G League. The Thunder have needed size and adding a player with both good size and strong shooting they knock out two holes with one player. While Williams will unlikely be on the final OKC roster he could be an option down the road if the Thunder deal with injuries or if he breaks out and shocks the roster.
