Victor Oladipo had a front row seat to NBA history during the 2016-17 season. Fresh off being traded to Oklahoma City from Orlando, Oladipo - like the rest of us - probably intially thought he would be joining NBA legends Russell Westbrook and Kevin Durant after the duo fell just shy in 2016 blowing a 3-1 series lead to the Golden State Warriors.

Instead, Durant bolted to the Bay Area and many wrote off the Thunder which felt like Westbrook and the other guys similar to Paul McCartney and the wings. Still, desite Durants departure, this move was considered a "blessing," for Oladipo in his NBA career.

Westbrook went on to have one of the most jaw-dropping seasons we have ever seen, averaging a triple-double and cementing himself among legends.

Oladipo joined The OG Podcast to dish on his NBA career, where he told a hilarious story about the Thunder legend and explained how good that year in Oklahoma City was for his career.

“This is the craziest story, we playing Houston in OKC one night and we both get there early for the game, [Russell Westbrook[ got the heat on his feet and we just chilling. All of a sudden he tells me ima dunk on somebody left-handed tonight. I looked at him and said “You ain’t gon do [expletitive]” and he’s like “aight”. In the very last play of the game to win it he runs and cuts and dunks on [Clint] Capela and yells “I TOLD YOU” and I literally forgot about it. I couldn’t believe it. Getting traded to OKC was a blessing cuz I learned from [Russell Westbrook]," Oladipo said.

The shooting guard was quickly flipped to Indiana that offseason to net the Thunder Paul George and spring board Oladipo to All-Star status.
