The Minnesota Timberwolves managed to even up the series and keep their season afloat on Thursday night in Game 6 against the Denver Nuggets, as they delivered arguably their best performance of the postseason in the 115–70 victory.

The 45-point win was the largest victory against a defending champion in NBA playoff history, as Anthony Edwards and company stepped up and avoided elimination in front of their home crowd, who were massively energetic throughout the night.

The Nuggets jumped out to a 9–2 lead in the first quarter before Minnesota took over and went on a 24–2 run. From there, they didn't take their foot off the gas, a message Edwards could be overheard preaching to his teammates on the bench during a timeout in the first half.

Edwards led the game in scoring with 27 points while logging a stunning +43 across 34 minutes on the floor. Rudy Gobert, Karl-Anthony Towns and Naz Reid were effective in controlling the glass, combining for 38 rebounds on the night.

Game 7 will take the series back to Ball Arena in Denver, where Minnesota will look to earn a trip to the Western Conference finals for the first time since 2004.
