Anthony Edwards, Jaden McDaniels questionable for Pelicans showdown
The NBA-leading Timberwolves could get even more dangerous with the looming return of small forward Jaden McDaniels, and the slowly-improving health of star guard Anthony Edwards.
The team's injury report on Sunday listed Edwards (right hip pointer) and McDaniels (ankle) questionable for Monday night's showdown against Zion Williamson and the New Orleans Pelicans in Minneapolis.
McDaniels has missed the last eight games with a sprained ankle, an injury that he suffered when he stepped on the foot of Karl-Anthony Towns in Minnesota's Nov. 20 win over the New York Knicks.
Edwards fell hard on his right hip Nov. 28 against the Thunder and missed two games before returning last Thursday against the Spurs. He played 37 minutes that night and started Friday's game in Memphis before aggravating his hip injury less than four minutes into the first quarter. He left the game and didn't return.
At 17-4, the Timberwolves have the best record in the NBA and lead the Western Conference by three games over the second place Oklahoma City Thunder.
