Anthony Edwards took flight off the Delta Center floor in Utah Monday night and threw down what he believes is the best dunk of his career. The dunk was so ferocious that John Collins, who found himself on the wrong side of the post slam, wound up exiting the game with a head contusion and Edwards dislocated a finger on his left hand.

Edwards went to the locker room, presumably popped the dislocated digit back into place, taped two fingers together and then returned to the game and wound up scoring 32 points in the 114-104 Timberwolves win.

After the game he was doing an interview with Kevin Lynch on the Bally Sports North when he was shown a replay of the dunk for the first time. The Star Tribune's Chris Hine captured the moment on his cellphone.

"Oh my God. Hey that's my best of my career, I'm not going to lie," Edwards said after letting out a howl. "I couldn't even react because I dislocated my finger."

"We've seen several of those rim attacks at the end of transition like that. I thought that was what really kind of flipped the game around for us just from an emotional point of view we needed a really big play," head coach Chris Finch said of the dunk. "Spectacular play."

Edwards put on the show despite Minnesota being without Rudy Gobert (ribs) and Karl-Anthony Towns (meniscus), who didn't play at all, and Naz Reid, who left the game with a head injury. Finch did not have an update on Reid after the game.

Minnesota could again be very shorthanded when they host the Denver Nuggets Tuesday night.
