Karl-Anthony Towns puts up 50 points in rare All-Star Game performance
Karl-Anthony Towns took 25% of his team's shots and scored almost 27% of his team's points as he became the fourth player in NBA history to score 50 points the All-Star Game.
The Timberwolves big man scored 50 points on 23-of-35 shooting, including 4 of 13 from 3-point range, lead the Western Conference All-Stars.
Despite his huge scoring night, the West was outscored by six points when he was on the floor and the Eastern Conference set a scoring record in a 211-186 victory. Defense was optional.
Towns joins Jayson Tatum, Anthony Davis and Stephen Curry as the only players to score 50 points in the All-Star Game.
- Tatum: 55 points in 2023
- Davis: 52 points in 2017
- Curry: 50 points in 2022
Unlike the other three, Towns was not the game's most valuable player. That award went to Bucks star guard Damian Lillard, who led the East with 39 points.
Towns' Timberwolves teammate Anthony Edwards finished with four points on 2-of-3 shooting.
