Karl-Anthony Towns ruled out for personal reasons
It'll be a Naz Reid night in Minneapolis with Karl-Anthony Towns being a late scratch for personal reasons.
Details about why Towns will not play in the 7 p.m. tipoff against the San Antonio Spurs haven't been provided, but it likely means more minutes for Reid, who is among the best bench scorers in the league and has proved capable scoring at a high level when given opportunity.
Reid's opportunity could be even greater Tuesday because center Rudy Gobert is also questionable with a sprained ankle.
If the Timberwolves choose to roll with Reid off the bench, he's undoubtedly play 25+ minutes and it would also likely mean the Timberwolves run with Kyle Anderson in the starting lineup.
In the event that Towns and Gobert don't play, it could mean a night of small ball for the Wolves against the Spurs and rookie phenom Victor Wembanyama.
