LeBron James questionable to play vs. Timberwolves due to illness
If you're looking to buy tickets to Saturday night's game between the Minnesota Timberwolves and Los Angeles Lakers so you can see LeBron James, you might want to pump the brakes.
According to ESPN's Dave McMenamin, the Lakers have listed James as questionable for Saturday's game due to a non-COVID illness. If James doesn't play it will be the second straight time James hasn't played during a trip to Target Center as he missed the Wolves' 118-111 victory over Los Angeles on Dec. 21 as the Lakers were on the second end of a back-to-back.
James, who at age 39 is the oldest player in the NBA, is averaging 25.1 points, 7.6 rebounds and 7.4 assists this season and may not have too many trips to Target Center remaining in his career. As a result, the lowest price for tonight's game is $210 (minus fees) on StubHub while tickets are going for $287 (minus fees) on Ticketmaster.
It represents a growing problem in the NBA as several stars have declined to play in Minneapolis as the Timberwolves have surged out to a 13-1 record at home this season.
The Wolves, who have the best record in the Western Conference will host the Lakers at 7 p.m. Saturday night.
