Mike Conley, Rudy Gobert out for Wolves battle in Boston

The Timberwolves have ruled out Mike Conley for a rest day and Rudy Gobert with left hip soreness for Wednesday night’s game at the Boston Celtics.
It’s the first time Minnesota has rested its 36-year-old point guard this season — and the first time Conley will miss a game this year — but the Wolves’ hands were likely tied after they were forced to stay in Florida due to weather after Tuesday night’s victory over the Orlando Magic.
Conley is averaging 11.2 points and 6.3 assists for the Wolves this season.
It will also be the first game that Gobert has missed all season. Gobert had 21 points, 12 rebounds and three blocks in Tuesday’s win over the Magic, but must have aggravated his hip during the game.
The Wolves already had their backs against the wall being forced to play the NBA-leading Celtics on the second half of a back to back, but between travel issues and potentially being down two starters, Wednesday night’s game just got that much harder.
