Mike Conley ruled out with illness for Wolves-Wizards game
Mike Conley will not play for the Timberwolves Wednesday night against the Washington Wizards while dealing with an illness, coach Chris Finch told reporters pregame.
Conley was listed as questionable on Minnesota's status report. With him out, it's likely that Nickeil Alexander-Walker will once again start in his place. Alexander-Walker had 18 points in 30 minutes in his start against Charlotte. He knocked down 6-of-8 shots including 4 of 5 from 3-point range.
Anthony Edwards played through a questionable tag due to an illness on Monday and he is not on the status report for Wednesday's game against the Wizards.
Minnesota (30-13) has fallen into a three-way tie for first place in the Western Conference with Oklahoma City (30-13) and Denver (31-14). Win No. 31 seems likely, however, as Minnesota is an 11-point road favorite against the 7-35 Wizards.
