Timberwolves obliterate Lillard-less Bucks in Milwaukee
Any thought that the Timberwolves could lose three straight after blowing a 23-point lead in Chicago on Tuesday with road games against the Bucks and Clippers on deck can file those brainwaves away because they obliterated the Bucks 129-105 in Milwaukee on Thursday night.
Milwaukee, playing without Damian Lillard (ankle) and Khris Middleton (ankle), fell behind by 10 points at the half and then got smashed by 17 points (39-22) in the third quarter and this time Minnesota didn't blow it like they did in recent games against the Bulls, Magic, Spurs, Hornets and Thunder.
Minnesota shot the lights out from downtown, hitting 21-of-41 3-point shots including a 6-of-7 performance from Mike Conley, who finished with 18 points, five rebounds and nine assists.
Karl-Anthony Towns, who will compete in the All-Star Saturday Night 3-point shootout, made 4 of 6 from deep and finished with 19 points.
Anthony Edwards connected on four triples and led Minnesota with 26 points and nine assists.
Rudy Gobert had a double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds, and Naz Reid was fuel off the bench with 17 points.
Minnesota held Giannis Antetokounmpo to 17 points, just the sixth time this season he's been held under 20 points and well under his season average of 31.8 points per game.
