Timberwolves sign T.J. Warren to another 10-day contract
The Timberwolves signed forward T.J. Warren to another 10-day contract on Saturday, the team announced in a release.
Warren, 30, signed a 10-day contract with Minnesota on March 6 and has played in four games since then, averaging 4.8 points on 47% shooting and 2.0 rebounds in 16 minutes per game. He’s made his way into the rotation while the Wolves have been without Karl-Anthony Towns, who had surgery to address a meniscus injury.
Across his 10-year career, Warren averages 14.5 points, 4.0 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game. In the 2019-20 season, Warren averaged 19.8 points per game and has shown ability as an effective scorer throughout his career when healthy.
Warren could become a valuable asset off the bench for the Timberwolves as they look to navigate at least the next month without Towns, who will be re-evaluated in about four weeks. They’ll need to replicate his offensive production as a collective, and Warren is in a position to get more minutes and provide a scoring punch for Minnesota over the upcoming stretch.
