Timberwolves to hold Mike Conley out of Monday's matchup with Hornets
Timberwolves veteran guard Mike Conley (rest) is set to miss just his second game of the season Monday night when Minnesota takes on the Charlotte Hornets.
The 36-year-old is averaging the fourth most minutes on the team this season while being one of just three players to only miss one game (Rudy Gobert and Karl-Anthony Towns).
The only other game Conley has missed this season was the Jan. 10 loss to Boston, which was the second night of a back-to-back. Minnesota was forced to travel to Boston, from Orlando, the day of the game due to inclement weather in Boston the night prior.
Conley was 1-for-11 shooting in Saturday's 102-97 loss to the Thunder. He also averaged 29.2 minutes as Minnesota played three games in four nights last week.
The Wolves' next four opponents all have losing records. Minnesota will then kick off a tough stretch of games, featuring teams vying for playoff spots, against the Oklahoma City Thunder, who sit just one game back of the Wolves in the Western Conference, on Jan. 29.
Minnesota has also listed rookie Jaylen Clark as out as he continues his rehab for a Achilles tear while Leonard Miller and Josh Minott are also out due to a G League assignment.
