Veteran Portland Trail Blazers point guard Malcolm Brogdon was hit with the injury bug during his first season calling the Moda Center home, which is pretty much par for the course for the reigning Sixth Man of the Year.

Brogdon boasts at least a semi-tradable expiring contract heading into 2024-25. He's inked to a two-year, $45 million deal at present. As the year approaches the 2025 trade deadline, his expiring money could be an incredibly useful chip Portland could offload in a deal with a team looking for some cap relief.

As he said following the official conclusion of the 2023-24 season on Monday, per The Rose Garden Report's Sean Highkin, Brogdon seemed genuinely clueless as to what would happen to him and his contract this summer or next season.

"As far as my future, I don't know what's going to happen," Brogdon said. "It's completely up in the air. But I've definitely enjoyed my time here in Portland."

When he did play, Brogdon was his typical steadying two-way presence. In his 39 healthy games (25 starts) this year, the 6'4" 31-year-old posted averages of 15.7 points on .440/.412/.819 shooting splits, 5.5 assists, 3.8 rebounds and 0.7 steals per bout. He probably still holds on-court value for interested parties thanks to his playmaking, defense and shooting, though his health issues make his current contract look a bit generous.
