Bucks guard Sterling Brown is prepared to take the City of Milwaukee and its police department to trial over a disturbing tasing incident in January 2018. He was confronted by officers in a mostly-empty lot for illegally parking. Under the city’s law, the offense warrants a $200 fine and a possible car towing. However, Brown’s confrontation resulted in the police handcuffing him and using a taser. Much of the event’s details were captured via an officer’s body cam footage. Brown’s attorney called the city’s $400,000 settlement offer a “sham” and added that they won’t accept an offer without an admission of guilt. SI legal analyst Michael McCann unpacks the case and looks ahead to what’s next for Brown.
