The Big Question For The Denver Nuggets: Will They Bring In Another Star?

Will the Denver Nuggets bring in another star to push them to the top of the West?

The Denver Nuggets are a deep, talented team poised to be a top three team in the West for years to come, but are they comfortable going for another star to allow them to compete with the Clippers and Lakers? SI's Rohan Nadkarni talks to Kaitlin O'Toole about what it takes for Denver to become the best team in the west.

Kaitlin O'Toole: The Denver Nuggets are a top three team in the West and the kind of team that benefits from being widely competent at every position. But it's hard to see them beating the Lakers or the Clippers in a seven game series. Joining me now is SI NBA writer Rohan Nadkarni. Rohan, I know the Nuggets are your team, so when it comes down to it, what is the big question for the Nuggets?

Rohan Nadkarni: You know, Kaitlin, I think it's really going to come down to if the Nuggets have the stomach to break up their core moving forward, because I think that's what it's going to take for them to kind of enter that echelon, like we mentioned, of the Lakers and the Clippers. They have a very, very good team right now, but would they be willing to break it up to go get a bigger star, a third star, someone who shakes free on the market, whether it's a Bradley Beal or somebody else to pair with Nikola Jokic to give them some more star power to fight in the Western Conference? You know, all those teams at the top have that loaded duo, whether it's LeBron and Anthony Davis or Kawhi and Paul George. I think while the Nuggets have constructed a very good roster, that's what they're lacking right now.
