The Atlanta Hawks announced they have relieved Lloyd Pierce of his head coaching duties.
The Atlanta Hawks have decided to part ways with their head coach. In a statement made on Monday, Atlanta Hawks president and General Manager Travis Schlenk announced that they have relieved Lloyd Pierce of his head coaching duties. Schlenk shared, "We would like to thank Lloyd for his work and commitment to not only the Hawks organization but the city of Atlanta." Pierce was in his third season as head coach and had high hopes for the Hawks to get back into the NBA playoffs. The team made multiple moves this offseason but After going 14- 20 leading into the All-Star Break, Atlanta decided to part ways. The Hawks are hopeful assistant Nate McMillan will choose to become the interim head coach.
