Bronny James surprised the NBA world this week when he opted to leave USC and declare for the 2024 NBA draft. Many believe that Bronny James isn't quite NBA-ready, but not Draymond Green.

On the newest episode of The Draymond Green show, Green revealed why he approved of Bronny James' decision to declare for the draft.

“Yes, I think Bronny will be a successful player in the NBA,” Green said. “I also think it’s a smart move for him to go in this NBA draft because this draft is basura. This draft will probably go down as one of the worst in history from a top-talent standpoint… If I’m Bronny, I’m also taking that into account… I can move up even higher because of the lack of talent, my name, who I am, what I bring, what I can grow into. I think it’s a great decision."

As a member of the USC Trojans, Bronny James averaged 4.8 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 2.1 assists on 37/27/68 shooting. His shooting ability leaves a lot to be desired, but Draymond Green believes that Bronny can become a successful 3-and-D player.

“At worst, Bronny is an NBA-level defender that can knock a shot down … a 3-and-D guy," Green said. "We got those all over the NBA. Can pressure the ball and … at worst, be a backup point guard that can pick up full-court, that can put pressure on another team’s lead guard -- whether that’s their backup, [or] starting guard. And can come in and change the tempo on the defensive end.”

While there are a plethora of NBA players who struggled shooting in college but transitioned well in the NBA, it's not going to be easy for Bronny James. If James doesn't produce decent numbers in his first year, the scrutiny he'll receive from some of the more ruthless national NBA media won't be pleasant.
