Analyst Blasts Warriors for Wasting Steph Curry's Historic Season

Bill Simmons is very upset at the Golden State Warriors

Of all the analysts fans would expect to be mad at the Golden State Warriors, very few would expect to pick Bill Simmons. Surprisingly, Simmons is actually very upset at the Warriors for "wasting" a prime Steph Curry year and let everyone know on The Bill Simmons Podcast.

“They had a chance here to do right by Steph and to really go all in on somebody who has four rings, same amount as LeBron, same amount as Shaq, one behind Kobe and Duncan, two behind MJ, and he’s as good as he’s ever been,” Simmons said. “They had a chance to make a big move, to load up, and even if it was somebody like Jakob Poeltl, that would’ve been a huge difference.”

The Warriors didn't make any huge moves at the trade deadline, but in all honesty, that isn't entirely their fault, as the Blazers didn't properly disclose the severity of Gary Payton II's injury. Acquiring Gary should have been a great move that brought some veteran defensive presence for a Warriors team that really needs defense. Regardless, the situation that the Golden State Warriors are in currently has Bill Simmons not believing in them anymore.

“I don’t think they have it this year,” Simmons said. “And believe me, I am very careful about saying stuff like that, especially in this era when little sound bits and tweets and whatever can just get thrown in your face.”

It's still a little too early to count the Golden State Warriors out, especially when anything can happen in the playoffs. One thing is for sure though, it's hard to believe in this team when their road record is as bad as it is.
