Draymond Green Makes Shocking History vs Bucks
Draymond Green isn't known for being the greatest three-point shooter in the NBA. However, with the way the modern NBA is played, even the most modest of three-point shooters can make history in unexpected ways - including Draymond Green.
After last night's Warriors game against the Milwaukee Bucks, Draymond Green actually passed Larry Bird on the NBA's all-time three-pointers made list. Green has 650 three-pointers made, and Larry Bird had 649 three-pointers made. Green shoots the three at a career 32%, while Larry Bird shoots it at a career 37.%. It's worth noting that Bird also shot 303 less than threes than Green.
The way the NBA is played right now has inflated offensive stats and incentivized players to shoot more and more threes. Year by year, the rules are changing to make the game faster-paced, and even smaller rules like changing the shot clock after an offensive rebound make a massive difference. Players will shoot threes as soon as they get an offensive rebound in the modern game as opposed to resetting a brand-new play.
The most interesting part of the way the game is viewed is how NBA fans interpret stats. For certain players, they accept that stats are inflated, but for others they don't. In the case of Draymond Green being compared to Larry Bird, it'll unfortunately always be the latter.
