Draymond Green Reacts to Being Left Off Team USA Olympics Roster

Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green is not being considered for Team USA

During a recent Zoom call with reporters, Team USA Basketball director Grant Hill Revealed why Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green was not considered for a spot on the upcoming Olympics roster.

"His contributions have been significant, and he is a real part of the legacy of this organization for his excellence," Hill said of Green, via ESPN's Brian Windhorst. "But I think just in lieu of sort of what's transpired this year, we made a decision to not have [Green] on this list with this particular point in time with the process."

Hill added, "We all understand and certainly have great respect and sensitivity to this particular period in his career, and he's working through some things both on and off the court. And so we at USA Basketball wanted to support him on his journey and we just didn't feel that playing over the summer gives him the best opportunity to do what he needs to do."

Green reacted to this during a recent episode of The Draymond Green show, saying, "I wish he would have just said that to me. Especially if you're going to say that publicly. So it hurt me a little bit. From a fan standpoint, as well. I'm a big fan of Grant Hill. If I got a call... I'll be ready with my bags packed and go play in a third Olympics, because I'm not too big to be second."

While Green was hurt a bit by Hill's comments, he would join the team in a second if they needed him.
