Draymond Green Reacts to Ejection After Stomping on Domantis Sabonis

The Golden State Warriors fell to the Sacramento Kings as Draymond was ejected

Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green was ejected from Monday night's game against the Sacramento Kings for stomping on Domantis Sabonis. When asked after the game about that play, Green said his leg was grabbed for the second time in two games.

"My leg got grabbed," Green said. "Second time in two nights... I gotta land my foot somewhere, and I'm not the most flexible person, so it's not stretching that far. I can only step so far." When asked for the explanation the referees gave him, Green said, "The explanation was I stomped too hard."

Green said he wasn't surprised that Sabonis stayed down on the ground that long, and reiterated that this is the second time in two games he has had his leg grabbed. Green said it was Malik Monk who did it last game, and of course Sabonis who did it in Game 2. On his reaction with the Kings crowd after the play, Green said, "I was just having fun. It's a fun game, fun atmosphere to play in. So, it's fun."

The Warriors are now down 0-2 heading back to San Francisco. Their road struggles from the regular season have carried over into the postseason, and they will need to be perfect at home while also stealing one on the road if they want to win this series.

While Golden State's struggles throughout the course of the regular season were indicative of a team that was not a championship contender, their championship pedigree led many to believe that a switch could be flipped in the playoffs. While that still could happen, their backs are now up against the wall, and they will need to be close to perfect from here on out.
