The Golden State Warriors are back after a long three-day weekend of rest. Having played their last game Thursday night — a 126-114 win over the Sacramento Kings at Chase Center — the Warriors (40-13) will hit the road in Oklahoma City Monday to take on the hosting Thunder (17-35).

One thing that the Warriors hope the long break didn’t leave behind is the hot-shooting from starting guard Klay Thompson. With nearly a month’s worth of games under his belt after two full seasons lost due to injury, Thompson found his range against Sacramento, hitting seven of the nine triples he attempted.

Thompson is no stranger to stellar performances in Oklahoma City, either. In 2016, as the Warriors orchestrated a comeback after being down 3-1 in the Western Conference Finals to the Thunder, Thompson put on one of his most iconic performances, scoring 41 points and an NBA record 11 three-pointers.

While the Warriors won’t be facing such dire consequences Monday, they’ll still hope to see Thompson continue with his scoring ways, especially with an eight-game winning streak at stake. After all, Golden State sits as the second-best team in the NBA and will want to maintain that momentum heading into the All-Star break in nine days.

The Thunder, who have nearly as many wins this season (17) as Golden State does losses (13), have played in 28 games this season decided by 10 points or less this year. And while Golden State is 2-0 against Oklahoma City this season, no trip to Paycom Center is a guaranteed win.

On the injury-front, Golden State will still be without Nemanja Bjelica (back), Draymond Green (back), and James Wiseman (knee). Otto Porter Jr. (back), however, is listed as day-to-day.
