Prior to Saturday night's Golden State Warriors vs. San Antonio Spurs game, Warriors head coach Steve Kerr said Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich looks rejuvenated after adding Victor Wembanyama to his team. Popovich was asked about this comment from Kerr, and shared a hilarious response, saying, "What was I being rejuvenated from? Was I in a mental institution, or was I depressed and curled up in my bedroom or something? Steve's an a--hole. And I'm going to tell him that tonight after the game."

Popovich, who has a good relationship with Kerr, was of course joking with this remark. It was a hilarious response to Kerr's Wembanyama comment, and it was very on-brand for Popovich who never takes his media sessions too seriously.

If Popovich has been rejuvenated by the addition of Wembanyama, the Spurs rookie showed exactly why in this game vs. the Warriors. Showing off his defense, athleticism, and shooting ability vs. Golden State, Wembanyama made several incredible plays that nobody else his size can make. Wembanyama and the Spurs handed the Warriors their first loss of the preseason, and while neither team ended the game with their regulars on the court, it was still a very impressive showing for the Spurs.

Looking to build off this momentum, the Spurs will practice these next few days in preparation for the regular season.
