Harrison Barnes' Honest Statement After Career Night vs. Warriors

Sacramento Kings forward Harrison Barnes dominated the Golden State Warriors

Up against his former team, Sacramento Kings forward Harrison Barnes dominated the Golden State Warriors on Thursday night, turning in a career-high 39 points in the win. Speaking on the TNT broadcast after the game, Barnes admitted that it felt good to have this big night against his former team, but kept the focus on his squad.

"Just trying to maximize opportunities," Barnes said of his play. "We feel like we have a good team, when the ball is moving you want to take open shots, the ball is finding me, I'm just trying to maximize my opportunities."

On how much the Kings are going to learn about their group during this upcoming stretch, Barnes said, "The biggest thing is we know we're a resilient group. We feel confident about the guys we have in this locker room. Go out every night and try to get some more wins, hopefully more convincing than this one, but we'll take it."

This was a big win for the kings, who are trying to hold off teams like the Warriors in the Western Conference standings. For Golden State, it was another bad loss that puts them further behind the playoff picture.

As the season goes on, the Warriors seem to look further and further from a championship level team. Whether or not a trade can turn this season around remains to be seen, but something has to change for Golden State.
