Injury Update: Key Player Ruled OUT in Warriors vs. Timberwolves Game
The Minnesota Timberwolves are set to take on the Golden State Warriors, but they will be without their defensive anchor Rudy Gobert. The big man was ruled out shortly before tip-off with right groin soreness. This is a big loss for a Minnesota team that is already without Karl Anthony-Towns. Backup big man Naz Reid will start in place of the injured Gobert.
While Gobert being sidelined is definitely a tough blow for the Timberwolves, it also throws off some of what Golden State likely planned to do. Opting to start small again with Jordan Poole in place of Kevon Looney, the Warriors were going to force Gobert to guard in space. Now with the big man sidelined, some of that changes. The Warriors are still sticking with the same starters, but their offensive game plan could look different.
This is a big game for two teams that are right next to each other in the Western Conference standings. At 26-24, the Warriors are just a half-game ahead of Minnesota in the standings, and would fall behind them with a loss in this one. Looking to keep their three-game winning streak alive, the Warriors will have to take advantage of a Timberwolves team that is without their starting front court.
The Warriors are Timberwolves will tip-off at 5:00 PM PST in Minnesota for what should be a good game.
