The NBA world was shocked when the Golden State Warriors actually pulled the trigger of starting the game with Klay Thompson off the bench on Thursday night. Many wondered how he'd take it, but to everyone's surprise, Thompson performed great and took it well.

"I found out this morning," Thompson said after the game. "Me and Steve [Kerr] had a good talk about it. You can do two things: you can pout or you can go out there and respond. I thought I did the latter very well tonight. Especially you know turnovers, missed a few boxouts though, more importantly, I realized I'm going to play a ton of minutes. So, you just gotta let the ego go when you think of coming off the bench and all that."

One person that Klay Thompson immediately thought of when coming off the bench was Manu Ginobili - one of the most accomplished NBA players ever and an NBA Hall of Famer.

"I thought Manu Ginobili, that guy has four rings and gold medal, and he came off the bench his whole career," Thompson said. "I don't think anyone looks down on his Hall of Fame candidacy. He's one of the greats. I embraced it before tip, and I deserved it really."

Off the bench, Klay Thompson put up 35 points, 6 rebounds, and 2 assists on 59% shooting. It was the type of performance that Warriors fans were hoping to see all season.
