Klay Thompson and the Golden State Warriors are in a very interesting situation this offseason. Thompson is set to be a free agent and is hoping for a massive contract, but his play on the court hasn't warranted that level of contract. As such, many expect him to test free agency this offseason.

Shams Charania was a guest on the Pat McAfee show where he gave a deep dive on what he expects out of Klay Thompson's free agency.

"He's set to be a free agent at the end of the season," Charania said. "From everything, I expect him to test the marketplace. I would expect both Florida teams, both LA teams, potentially a couple of East Coast teams to have interest in Klay Thompson. As of right now, unless there's a miracle extension, he's going to test the marketplace. The Warriors have understood going into the year after they didn't expect him, his future is up in the air just for the simple fact that he's going into free agency."

Klay Thompson is currently signed to a 5-year / $189,903,600 contract. The Golden State Warriors have never been in a situation where Steph Curry, Draymond Green, and Klay Thompson were not all on the same team together. It's very clear that Steph Curry wants Klay to stay on the team, and the Warriors will do whatever they can to keep Steph happy. The entire situation puts Golden State in a very tricky situation where they have to worry about other teams like the Los Angeles Lakers.
