Massive Pascal Siakam to Warriors Trade Idea Proposed
The Golden State Warriors won the championship in 2022, but looked a tier below title contention for most of last season. While they made a move to add Chris Paul, some feel the veteran point guard won't be enough to elevate Golden State from second round exits to championship contenders.
In a recent article from Zach Buckley of Bleacher Report, a hypothetical Pascal Siakam trade was proposed that sends the All-Star forward from the Toronto Raptors to Golden State. The entire trade looked like this:
Golden State Warriors get: Pascal Siakam
Toronto Raptors get: Chris Paul, Jonathan Kuminga, Brandin Podziemski and 2028 first-round pick (top-seven protected)
Flipping Chris Paul again would be an interesting move for the Warriors, especially since they have spoken so openly about why they're excited to have him; however, a deal like this would certainly raise their ceiling for next season. It's unclear what the Raptors are trying to do this offseason, but if they choose to deal Siakam, it will likely be for a collection of young players and draft choices, along with the contracts that make the money work.
While this trade does get Toronto a future first-round pick, a rookie in Podziemski, and a promising young player in Kuminga, it's possible they would want more draft assets than what they're receiving from Golden State in this deal.
