NBA Admits Missed Call in Warriors vs. Suns Game
The NBA has released their last two minute report for the Golden State Warriors vs. Phoenix Suns opening night game, and there was only one missed call in the final two minutes. According to the NBA, the officials missed a defensive three second violation with 1:47 remaining in the game. With the Suns winning, this missed call was ultimately inconsequential, but it was still detailed by the league in their last two minute report.
Last two minute reports are often controversial, because while they add some level of accountability for the league and their officials, it can be frustrating to know there's nothing that can be done to undo the missed calls. That said, there was no major impact with this one missed call on opening night, which is something both fanbases can feel good about.
The Warriors and Suns played a close one in the season opener, with Golden State coming back after trailing early. Phoenix ultimately executed better down the stretch in a game that was decided in the final few minutes. For the Warriors, this is something they hope to improve on as the season progresses, as different players could be getting an opportunity to close games on any given night.
Dropping their season opener, the Warriors will look to bounce back in game two when they face the Sacramento Kings on Friday.
